I made everyone’s favorite (Brussel sprouts! ), and also some beery-cheesy-oniony sauce on cheese tortellini.

After dinner, Starbucks black iced coffee and two regular Oreos as dessert.

Brussel sprouts are great and I refuse to believe otherwise.

Threw some green beans, red peppers, onion, and chicken into a skillet with soy sauce, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and a little ground ginger all served over rice. Turned out pretty good!

They’re alright. I’ve never been impressed by the flavor, but they are unusually-filling. Also super chewy, which may or may not be a good thing.

No pics, because didn’t take them, but my wife’s family has this Wednesday tradition of “hamburger patty”, which I don’t care for, but when she’s cooking... It’s a cheeseburger without a bun. Cheese, onions, pickles, and coarse horseradish mustard on mine. This time it was with garlic mashed potatoes.

It’s nuts. No one learned from the last housing market crash. If we hadn’t bought in the middle of the downturn we couldn’t live here. These prices are inflated and unrealistic. The market will adjust soon.

No no, I agree. It’s just that I should make time and pack a decent lunch. But cliff bars save the say, I always have a few in my glove box just in case I’m working way later than I had anticipated.

Those Brussel sprouts look damn good. I hardly make them anymore because the kids won’t touch them. We did a “burrito bowl” thing here - rice, black beans, tomatoes and chicken in a skillet then throw cheese and sour cream on top. Basically a quick at-home version of Chipotle.

They are pretty sugar-filled now that I look at the ingredients. Might be worth trying others or something a little healthier.

Then again, who am I to say anything, I eat crap for lunch since eating out is no longer in the budget (the house and big furniture purchase)...

Yeah I keep a mix of various bars around - Clif, Kind, Luna, Nature Valley, etc - stashed in my desk drawers for those days I’m working thru lunch or well past 5. Yes packing a good lunch would be better but a bar sure beats drive through tacos. I had a pre-pack salad with walnuts and feta cheese today. It was tasty and I need to do that more often but it takes a lot longer to eat leaves with a fork than huff down a bar (or taco).

My brother in law makes them with chopped up thick-cut bacon and almonds with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. They’re killer and the house smells good for like a whole day after. But too much work for me I’ll try your version.

I made a roasted cauliflower and chickpea salad with a lemon tahini sauce. It was damn good. Kiddos gobbled it up which is always nice.
